Above are what I know I've tasted over the years. A few I swam in! Going forward I will try to comment and provide info on the beer...really so I can remember. Be-warned, I have a terrible palette and I am in NO WAY a beer critic.
Hoegaarden (Belgium)- witbier, 4.9% - as expected coriander and orange
Duck-Rabbit Milk Stout (NC) - espresso with just a touch of chocolate (i think), no bite to mention, the lactose is very subtle and is probably what kills the bite
Flying Dog Classic Pale Ale - 5.5% ABV - IBU 36 - hoppy (cascade), almost red, what you would expect from an American Pale Ale
Depot Street's Southbound Scottish Ale (TN) - malty, maybe some smoke
Highland's Brewery St. Teresa's Pale Ale (NC) - nice pale, not in your face with hops
Chimay Blue Trappist Ale - 9% ABV - Wow, this baby will knock you on your butt. Tried again 1.22.09. Really liked this one. Dark and malty.
Chimay White Belgian Tripple - 8% ABV - Don't drink this right after a Chimay Blue or you will need a nap. Tried it again 1.23.09 great beer but not my style. Peppery w/ corriander is what I got.
Depot Street's Loose Caboose Lager - Last beer of the night. Seemed good but palette was shot.
Flying Dog In Heat Wheat Hefeweizen - Not bad. Light and malty. Could probably drink a gallon mowing the lawn.
RedHook ESB - A little too bitter for my taste. 28 IBUs but seemed more.
Rogue Dead Guy Ale - nice and smooth. For some reason I expected a little more hops but I'm glad they weren't there.
Paulaner Hefe-Weizen - nice German wheat
Sea Dog Blue Paw Wheat (Maine) - Chick beer. Blueberry wheat.
Duck-Rabbit Porter (NC) - Yummy! Maybe a little sharp but still good.
Rocky Mountain IPA (Fort Collins, CO) - Not my flavor of IPA.
Anchor Steam - Not bad, not my favorite.
Wittekerke (Bavik Brewery, Belgium) - 5% - If you like Wits you'll love this! Spicy/Sweet, creamy, flowery, dry. I could drink 10!
Dogfish Head 90 Minuite IPA (Milton, DE)- 9% - Whew, this baby takes some time, don't rush it. Hoppy but not out of control. Smells like hops. Malty sweet. Not cheap @ $2.50/bottle. My second try (a day later) is about the same. I can taste the alcohol. The hops are there but it is not bitter. I am getting a caramel flavor. Good but not my style.
Balashi/Balashi Light (Aruba) - Grolsch like. Made with desalinated water.
Amstel Bright (Curacao)- Light & easy to drink. I liked this one. Made with desalinated water.
Stout Ale - Mountaineer Brewing Company - I enjoyed this stout. It has a great coffee finish. You can also pick up a chocolate aroma. Dry with light body. You could drink a few of these and not feel weighted down. Michelob - Stone Mill Pale Ale – Not as hoppy as I expected. I guess I was expecting cascade. Clean finish. I like the carb level. Easy to drink. Budweiser American Ale - Probably the best beer they make. Not as hoppy as most american pales. I've taste much worse. The Famous Taddy Porter – Samuel Smith Old Brewery – It’s been a couple of days since I tasted this one. I can remember malty goodness. Roasty, chocolate, easy to drink. The classic porter. Anniversary Ale – Sierra-Nevada – Drinkable IPA. Not crazy hoppy. Close to their Pale. Very tasty. Nut Brown Ale - Mountaineer Brewing Co - Nutty. I get chocolate late. It's good but not my style. Lunar Ale – Boulevard Brewing – Bottle conditioned. Maybe a little yeasty but not bad. Really clean finish. Delirium Tremens - For some reason I didn't really care for this 8.5% triple. Duck-Rabbit Brewery - Brown Ale - bitter, hoppier than I expected, I think I liked the Mountaineer Brewing Co's version. Left Hand Brewing Co - Milk Stout - coffee aroma, smooth and balanced. this is a good stout! Mackeson XXX - I just dig milk stouts! Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel - 1.24.09 - Munich Dunkle - I tend to like malty beer and this one fits that mold. Little hop profile, BIG malty dark lager. Corsendonk Abbey Pale Ale - 1.24.09 - WOW!!! What an beautiful triple ... very very very drinkable. I would say lager like. Chimay Red - 1.24.09 - Well... after the Corsendonk ... I will have to try this one again. Corsendonk Abbey Brown Ale- 2.12.09 - pours a thick head with lots of bubbles. it is a deep brown dubble. this brew gets an "A" on most other review sites but i did not care for it. Magic Hat Circus Boy Hefeweizen - 2.13.09 - 2 finger head that hangs around. beautiful golden color. very clear for a wheat. i am thinking this is not a "true" hef. dry finish. i enjoyed it and think it would be perfect on a hot day. Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar - 2.18.09 - dark brown, nice head & good lacing, nutty, roasted malts, good but not my style. Avery IPA - 2.18.09 - nice color and head, good hop aroma, nice IPA that could use a little more malt Leinenkugel's 1888 Bock - 2.18.09 - i though this was a beautiful beer, brown & creamy head that dissipated quickly, caramel malts, a bit of diacetyl especially when it warmed but i liked this bock. Shiner Bohemian Black Lager - 2.21.09 - deep deep garnet when held to the light, naice head that hung aroung, little lacing, i did not care for this one. Magic Hat #9 "not quite pale ale" - 2.22.09 - golden, 2 finger head that dissipated somewhat quickly, floral aroma, medium boday, clean fruit/floral/slightly sweet aftertaste, taste had me puzzled so i looked up the recipe ... apricot ... okay beer, wife liked it BJ's Brewhouse Blonde (kolsch) - uhh...yukk..no head. Stinky Daddy's Old Grass Cutter kicks this onew tail! BJ's Brewhouse Piranha Pale Ale - bitter aftertaste. nice lacing. mediocre pale. BJ's Brewhouse Gran Cru - Their take on a belgian strong ale. It was decent. Too strong of an alcohol taste for me. BJ's Brewhouse Jeremiah Red Ale - Best of the bunch. Nice and malty with grassy hops. What you would expect from a good red. Brooklyn Brewery Lager (draught)- Pours thick pillowy head that lingers. I was guessing amarillo hops but the website says cascade. Getting an aftertaste I don't like but overall a decent american lager. Deschutes Black Butte Porter (draught)- All I can say is DAMN MALTY GOODNESS. Smooth as a baby's bottom. No bite at all. This is the best porter I have had to date. I can see why it has won all the awards. Wanted to try Mirror Pond Pale Ale but they were out! Ally Kat - Full Moon Rye Pale Ale(draught) - head disipates quickly. no nose to speak of. hey, its beer... Spoetzl Brewery - Shiner 100 Dopplebock (draught) - balanced and very malty. hides the 6.7% well. This one will get you. Beautiful mahogany color. Try this one. Ayinger Celebrator dopplebock - Malty goodness! exactly what I wanted with the first cool fall air. cocoa is what i get.
