The V Vessel is Here!

Vessel_stuff Vessel_doc_compress_1 My first conical arrived via UPS yesterday. I cannot wait to use it. I hope to brew a 5 gallon batch of Tatum's Tail Ale this weekend.

The V Vessel came packaged with a mounting rack, a stopper, and an airlock. It also has a bottling attachment.

The plastic is heavy duty. I don't have calipers but it looks to be 1/8" thick. It is clearly marked at 5 gallons and I believe it would hold in the 6.5 gallon range.

The bottom of the conical has a ball for collecting trub and harvesting yeast. The ball connects to a ball valve using a cam lock. Basically you close the valve. Remove and empty the trub in the ball. Sanitize the ball and re-attach. It seems fairly straight forward.

The bottling attachment works similar to the collection ball. It has a 1/2" hoVessel_topse barb. I will need a 1/2" to 3/8" reducer to use my bottling wand. I should be able to pick that up at any hardware store.

The bracket is used for hanging the conical on the wall. Instead, I am going to build a stand so I can move it around the house.

I can't wait to use it. No more racking to a secondary!!
