What was I thinking? Doughing in at 11:30 pm?starting a 90 minute boil at 1:oo am? Pitching my starter at 4:oo am? The neighbors had to think I was cooking crack!
I had troubles with this one too. I am blaming it on a new 10 gallon mash tun and being rusty. I missed my OG by .007. I adjusted my sparge from 2 to 1 and I really needed that 2nd sparge to get all the sugar. When I was done I had boiled the wort down t0 4.5 gallons. That means I missed my target OG by .015! So, I am now outside the style.
Ingredients: 5lbs Munich; 5 lbs Pilsner; 2 lbs Vienna, 1lb carapils; .5 lb Cyrstal 120; .5 lb Melanoidin; 1oz Tettnanger @ 60; 1oz Tettnanger @ 20; 1 oz Tettnanger @ 2 ; Wyeast Munich Lager (2 quart starter)
OG - 1.070; SRM - 15.7; IBU - 27.9
Gotta love a starter. Had a foamy krausen within 10 hours!
